Taking life bird by bird

Some weekend projects to keep myself insane and in sync with my mind, body and soul. I often turn to crafting when my mind plays tricks with me. When I am too impatient to meditate I look for inspirations around me. And this is what I did in the past two weekends.

Succulent garden

Succulent planters

Creating these planters and table tops was extremely meditative to me. The boy and the girl represent my kids who are always on my mind.

Recipe

Layer your planters with some soil, manure and coco peet and prepare the base. Can use coconut husk and pebbles too.

Place your succulents as per size, colour and appearance and sprinkle some water for a fresh look.

And you are done. I have used an old tea pot as a planter, you can go wild on this and use anything that suits your style.

My knowledge with plants is very limited and I hope this project will keep my interest alive.

Mason jar as pen stands or book ends

Mason jar penstands

Cute easy and simple is what I call them.

Recipe

Mason jars old or new, I used old ones from my kitchen cabinet

Chalk paint in colours of your choice

Sand paper

Jute thin ropes

White poster paint

Black OHP marker

Start my dusting off your mason jars clean. Shake the bottle and paint the first coat on the jars and let it dry completely. Once dried apply a second coat and leave again.

Measure and cut ropes and tie around the neck to make it look decorative.

Choose a design and okay with white poster paint and outline your design with the marker.

Your jars are ready to go.

Question

Are you a crafter ? Do you enjoy a DIY project? If yes , what does it mean to you? And if No , try doing one and know how meditative it feels for sure. Just be a bit patient though.

These projects have taught me to take life bird by bird and allow myself the natural time to heal my mind , body and soul.

Happiness and sunshine
