THE best gift to self

Does your hand itch to pick up your phone every time you see a bell icon ?

Do you refresh your apps to check for missed notifications ?

Do you see your phone the first thing in the morning and the last thing before snoozing ?

Do you have your notifications on for all the apps that you use on your phone?

Do you scroll on your phone at every instance? Sometimes just to show that you are busy?

If you do any of these 5 things then it is most likely that you are addicted to your phone. Statistics show shocking data on how much time people spend on their phones and believe me it is not funny.

Apart for everything else it poses so many health hazards. Sitting is the new smoking. But I think the time we spend on our phones is far more decremental than sitting.

“In the urge to answer all notifications do not forget to answer your own call to self”

Investing in self time is worthy of every second.

Busy with self and having all the time for self is the best one can give to self. There are no rules for this, no compulsions no place and no agenda. All you need to be is mindful of self. Spend some time being in your skin, feeding your thoughts, understand the rhythm of your breath noticing each inhale and exhale. Fill up your cup before filling others. An empty cup cannot quench anyone.

Be your own company,

All the best

Happiness and sunshine 🌼

Its hard to be an aspiring blogger and not spend time on your phone! It is a labor of love! But this makes tons of sense.

    1. Yes I agree, but even then there can be some discipline . Like I stay away from
My phone when in company of my kids .

  2. I agree, phones and other screens can be addicting! We need to have time away from these things too, especially if other people are around!

  6. I so agree with you! I ditched my mobile phone in December and replaced it with a landline. Life is infinitely more peaceful.

    1. In fact I care across a school which asked parents to sign a bond that they will use their phones as landlines in order to get their child admitted in the school.
If we could use our mobile phones as landlines the problem is solved specially in the presence of our kids .
I appreciate ans applaud your insight and the fact that you made such a choice πŸ‘

I struggle with my phone a lot! Especially when I’m at work and supposed to be focusing on the kids I nanny. I’ll take it out to check something for homework or to take a picture and then I get sucked into my notifications lol but I’m trying to distance myself from it

    1. Me too . I use my phone as a landline when I am home and with my kids. Try to not touch it in their presence.

I use it for work. No choice in disruptive times and we move towards SMART NATION status. My android is a mini tablet to receive and send emails, communicate amongst regional offices, e diary, banking, parking, casting movies etc. This is my new norm as soon everything is done via my cell phone.

Yes – phones are becoming the new worst addiction. We are becoming less social as a society and it is causing loneliness and isolation. Thankfully I am unable to use a phone (I’m a quadriplegic) because I know I would be one of the addicted ones. Thank you for this post. It is spot on and important.
